Our five-step process will guide you from the first consultation to the finished product:

1. On-site Consultations
2. Landscape Design Plans
3. Preliminary Figures
4. Proposal
5. Installation

The Aardweg Landscape design process begins at our initial on-site meeting with you. We may include photo documentation of your new garden as part of the dialogue and imaging that ensues. We utilize those images and your input along with our professional knowledge, experience and design expertise to succesfully bring your landscaping hopes and dreams to life. We have established a solid base of satisfied customers in our 35 years of landscaping experience in the Main Line and Philadelphia areas.

Our process brings you great results!

We can work in phases over months or years, or we can install your landscape in one pass, whichever best suits your budget and needs.

Landscape Design - Step 1ON-SITE CONSULTATIONS

Landscape design consultation

One of the most important steps in understanding our clients' needs occurs at the intial visit. This is a no-cost approximately one hour consultation with a designer. We encourage you to relay to us your thoughts, ideas and concerns regarding your landscape design and how it relates to your home and lifestyle. We encourage you to convey to us what your landscape goals are, so that we can better understand how your home and landscape will best be suited to your needs and aesthetics. After listening and asking we will recommend a course of action that will address achieving those goals based on your input and our experience.

At the first meeting the client's tastes are determined. The architecture of the house is considered and the two are integrated into the overall sense for the design. Any material the client has, such as magazine clippings, images from books or the web that helps show their taste is very helpful in the process.

Landscape Design - Step 2LANDSCAPE DESIGN PLANS

Our landscape design plans run the full range of possibilities.

2D / Photo imaging / 3D walk throughs / Master plans

PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE DESIGNS

Photographic imaging gives the client a "real" feel for how the landscaping would look. This is our most requested imaging format. Digital shots are taken and imported into a CADD program where the "look" is created and e-mailed to the client. Dialogue follows via email and or phone. If needed the image is tweaked to reflect the client's input. Digital imagery is charged at ~ $100 per sheet. It usually requires 2 to 3 sheets for a typical front or back.

CONCEPTUAL MASTER PLANS

If a master plan is requested we take measurements for the subsequent board work. Master plans generally cost $1250 to $3000 depending on size, complexity and other factors. The cost of the plan is backed out of the budget if Aardweg Landscaping is retained for the installation.

3D RENDERINGS

The 3D option gives the client a virtual walk-through of the new landscape. Typically costs between $750 to $1500.

Landscape Design - Step 3PRELIMINARY FIGURES

The client is given our Preliminary Numbers sheet with figures for bed preparation, transplants, removals and drip irrigation.  High, medium and low numbers for plants/design/install are also given. This range allows the client to tailor the budget to their needs. If more instant gratification is necessary the higher numbers would be appropriate. We work with our clients in guiding and following budgetary considerations.

Landscape Design - Step 4PROPOSAL

A proposal with the specifics and agreed budget is written. A meet is scheduled to go over the proposal and if acceptable, the proposal is signed and a deposit is given.

Landscape Design - Step 5INSTALLATION

Using imagery, plans and dialogue as our guide, the appropriate materials are brought on site. The on-site composition that utilizes the best of planning and artistic capabilities is actuated. On-site design following the agreed concept allows for maximization of artistic expression, generating a better end product for the client. Clients who wish a plan that is strictly adhered to will be accommodated.
