Creating Gardens of Distinction for Over 30 Years!



We get a lot of requests for more color in the garden. The previous generation concentrated on evergreen materials, with an emphasis on lollypop yews, square azaleas and rhodies on the foundation. Perhaps the original idea was not to shear these plants, but because they grow too large for most foundations they end up that way. Many of our clients move in, do the kitchens and bathrooms, then look outside and call me. Most of my designs include perennials for color and texture as well as "bones" (evergreen material) along the foundation to carry through the winter. Unlike the previous planting of yews, azaleas, and rhodies, I plant materials that will not overgrow the area and need to be subjugated or removed in 10 years. All of these gardens were bare dirt when we started.
